Location Overview: You can’t fail to be blown away by Cape Town: gorgeous white sand beaches, dramatic vineyards, a stylish city center, all backed by sheer mountains. National Geographic has also enlisted Cape Town as one of the most iconic cities on the planet and "Places of a Lifetime".
The city has a reputation for being the most welcoming city in South Africa. Capetonians are proud of their easygoing spirit. Cape Town recently underwent a facelift for the 2010 world cup and enjoys many new restaurants and hotels as a result.
Cape Town is the economic centre of the Western Cape Province, South Africa's second main economic centre and even Africa's third main economic hub city. It serves as the regional manufacturing centre in the Western Cape, has the primary harbour and airport in the province, and the largest government in the province. Temperature averages are in the 50s during June and July.
Transportation: The bus is the main form of public transportation in Cape Town. The transportation system can be effective but many participants elect to rent a vehicle to experience all that Cape Town has to offer. We can help with car rental discounts or ride sharing, as needed.
